Audree, Carol, Gayle and I had been meaning to get to the quilt shop in Lodi for a few months. We tried once on our way to Gayle's in Warrens, but we got horribly lost somewhere outside of Sun Prairie and decided to bag it for another time. This time, we made it, and we were so delighted by the shop that I thought I'd tell you about it (and a couple others in Central Wisconsin we visited as well!) I made the tablerunner in the photo above in about 2 hours and the pattern is designed and sold from a shop named Creekside Stitches in Lodi, WI. (A quaint little town about a half hour outside of Madison near the Wisconsin River.) The name of the pattern is Cookie Cut Starburst and there's a full-size quilt pattern that's similar in design. The shop is well worth your visit if you love darker, homey fabrics such as Kansas Troubles, Three Sisters and Sandy Gervais. The shop is larger than you'd think on the inside and just packed with fabric and books and patterns. We give this shop a big thumbs up! The address is 123 S. Main St. in Lodi and their phone number is 608-592-5793.
Another shop we loved is in Warrens, which is a pretty sleepy little town except in September when they host the famous Cranberry Festival! The name of the shop is Quilting Plus, 103 Main St. Warrens, WI. Their phone number is 608-378-4585. The shop is located in what I think is an old brick tractor barn. It's bright and airy on the inside and they have a nice sized classroom in the back. They have all the fabrics we love plus a nice selection of children's fabrics and brights. The ladies that work there are very nice and we feel very welcome when we come. It's worth the 10 mile or so detour from the interstate to check this out. And the Warrens Mall is not to be missed! :)
Our last stop was the Quilt Corner in Sparta, between La Crosse and Tomah. Their address is 219 N. Water St. and their phone number is 608-269-1083. This is a two story house packed to the walls with Thimbleberries, Kansas Troubles, homespuns, childrens fabrics and just about anything else you'd want. They have quilts for sale in their basement and a huge classroom in the back. They also have a weekend retreat center across the street, which apparently is filled most weekends! We've been to this shop twice now and have been pleased both times.
There's a bunch of nice shops between Racine and Tomah that we've visited as well, but I'll save that for another blog! Thanks for taking the time to visit us and I hope your fall is going well! Feel free to leave comments about anything or questions about the shops I've talked about!
And, for those of you trying to get your Christmas projects done, our cut-off date for quilting is November 15. We may be able to take more after that date, but you'll have to call and check first.

I stopped at the quilt shops you mentioned (Eau Claire, Warrens and Sparta) and they were worth the trip!!! It was a beautiful day for a ride and the shops were awesome. The Warren's quilt shop had 40% off all quilt kits!!!
